Week 4 of 52 Inspiration

The theme this week was “Fruit of your Labor” … well for me that means that I feel healthier for getting myself to the gym for a week straight and I’m not stopping. This Selfie photo was taken Saturday after my hubby and I refused to let the holiday stop us from getting a good sweat on, without a gym open we put in the DVD and listened to Jillian berate us for 40 minutes of “Last Chance Biggest Loser.”

My inspiration comes from a moment a few weeks ago ~ I had gone to the gym for the first time in awhile, and as usual took a step on the scale. For several months … okay over a year! I’ve watched that scale slowly creep up and I’ve had an excuse for each pound.

The round figure 140 looked back at me from the digital display… when? had? THAT? Happened?! In denial I pulled my tape measure and wrapped it to measure around my belly button – 35 inches?! No denying it anymore … I had let myself go.

Sitting on the couch sipping a glass of wine, tears running down my cheeks I told my hubby of the discovery and how that made me feel. His cuddly warm words?

Then go to the gym!

So we have been, I’ve lost two pounds in my first week and a half. No wine on weeknights and watching what I put in my mouth. Its not rocket science, and I know I’m not the type to embrace a full scale diet program or stop eating. I want to be strong and healthy, not skinny and pathetic.

So here I come 2012, my goal is by June to be back in that $100 splurge bikini I bought in Vegas and to rock it with some muscles …

My Goal Bikini, and a healthier happier me

[ Notice I didn't put pounds to it? I'm not sure what my ideal weight will be if I have muscle gain as well ]. My strength goal is to be able to pull my body weight up in an un-assisted pull up. I’m still working on a lower body goal, but knowing me if I figure this all out RIGHT now, it won’t happen.

It’s the day after Christmas and I’m feeling a bit ill after too much Christmas cheer, so I’m going to go put on my sports wear and let Jillian yell at me some more through an Aerobic workout.

What are your New Years Resolutions?

  1. Good for you! It’s so easy just to sit back and continue to let the pounds creep on, especially during Christmas. Keep it up!

You look hot in that bikini, girl! I’d say that’s a pretty good goal. :)

    • THANK YOU!! I appreciate the support. Its going to require me to keep a focus and I tend to slide off at about the 2 month mark, I’ll be pushing and reminding myself the whole way!

      I LOVE that bikini ;)
